In this guide, I'll take you through the process of displaying your Hotel information content items on your Digital Signage and In-room TV streams. We will cover two cases:

  • Displaying a Hotel information content item on all your screens.

  • Displaying a Hotel information content Item on specific screens.

And the best part? After adding tags as described in this article, your Hotel information content items will be updated automatically on your streams.

πŸ’‘Tip: Both Digital Signage and In-room TVs are streams based on a URL. Follow this article to find your URL, and paste it into your devices equipped with a browser.

Case 1: Displaying a Hotel information content item on all your screens

Step 1: Open the Hotel information content item

Begin by opening the Hotel Information content item you wish to display on all your screens. Scroll down until you reach the "Tags" text field.

Step 2: Assign a tag

Depending on the type of screen, you can use different tags:

  • For non-touchscreen displays (the URL Linear mode), use the tag "screensaver_on_passive"

  • For touchscreen displays (the URL Interactive mode), use the tag "screensaver_on_active"

  • To hide content from your app but still show it on your screens, add the tag β€œhide_on_app"

That's all there is to it, your Hotel information content item is now visible on all the screens set up to display your basic URL! πŸ˜€

Case 2: Displaying a Hotel information content item on specific screens

Let's take an example and imagine you want to create a unique stream for In-room TVs and have specific content items appear exclusively on these devices.

Step 1: Open the Hotel information content item

Begin by opening the Hotel Information content item you wish to display on these specific screens. Scroll down until you reach the "Tags" text field.

Step 2: Assign a tag

Use the tag feature to specify where you want to display a particular content item. For instance, you can create a tag "in_room_tv" in the text field, simply by typing it.

πŸ’‘Tip: You can create any tag suiting your needs, like "spa_screen" or β€œlobby_screen".

Step 3: Craft Your URL

❗Note: If you're using a Chromebox, we'll handle this for you. Just tell us which tags you want to display on your box, and we'll configure it accordingly.

Next, access your URL by clicking on Hotel Settings/Links & QR codes

Copy the URL and paste it into another browser tab. Modify the URL to instruct the system to display content with a specific tag by adding "&tag=name_of_tag"

Let’s take our example again: we wanted to create a specific stream for In-room TVs, so we used the tag β€œin_room_tv”. Now, we would add "&tag=in_room_tv" to the end of the URL.

Next, paste this modified URL into the browsers of the devices where you want to display this content.

Done! We know it can be a bit technical, but now you're all set to manage your Digital Signage and In-room TVs! πŸš€πŸš€πŸš€
